Frankfurters with Cabbage is a complete meal that match vegetables and meat. This recipe is an original way to enjoy the cabbages and the frankfurters.

Ingredients:

  • Cabbage (large)

    1 head
  • Frankfurters (beef, pork and turkey)

  • Red Wine

    1/2 cup
  • Onions (finely chopped)

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    3 tbsps
  • Salt

    to taste
  • Black Pepper

    to taste

Cooking Directions:

Shred the cabbage and finely chop the onion.

In a large skillet saute the onion in the extra virgin olive oil.

When the onions are caramelized quickly add the cabbage and the red wine. Saute for about 5 minutes. Adjust of salt and pepper.

Add 2 cups of water, lower the heat and cover. Let cook for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally.

Add the Frankfurter sausages cut in pieces and cook for another 20 minutes or until ready.

Serve hot. Lay the frankfurters (also known as wurstel) in the plate, surrounded by the cooked cabbage as side.
